A.G. Russell Knives

"In the more than 40 years that I have been making, designing, and collecting knives, I have never seen a knife that excites me more than this one does!"

I wrote those words about 1987 when I introduced my original "One Hand Knife". What is really exciting is that in all this time, I have not been able to say it again until this version was ready to offer to our customers. My FeatherLite One Hand Knife is an inexpensive, lightweight, super-strong version of the original. This knife opens and closes exactly like the all steel original version.

You have never seen a knife made with such simplicity and strength. The handle is fiberglass reinforced nylon, molded in one solid piece. It is checkered and shaped, not only to fit your hand with comfort when working, but to also fit your pocket without wearing holes in it. We have these handles made in the U. S. and then ship them to Japan where the blade is made and the knife is assembled. The FeatherLite One Hand Knife is fashioned to be slim enough to carry comfortably in the pocket, while having enough bulk to fill the hand when doing really hard work. This outstanding handle is shaped to guard your forefinger from slipping onto the blade. That same guard covers the sharp corner at the back of the blade and keeps it from wearing through your pockets.

As you look at this knife you will see that it is not at all large, just under four inches closed. The blade measures slightly over three inches. Cut through the blade is an oval hole for your thumb, which enables you to flip it open with one hand. This makes the FeatherLite One Hand Knife the easiest to open pocketknife that you have ever seen. The blade and handle combination are engineered to give you the very fastest and surest opening knife you can buy. A little practice lets you open this knife with authority and speed.

The blade is made from AUS-8; a high-carbon, stainless cutlery steel hardened to 57-59 Rc., hollow ground to give great cutting ability. There are two blade patterns; a traditional Bowie style clip blade and A. G. Russell's own General Purpose blade.
