When you look at a Klötzli knife keep in mind that it is handcrafted to exacting standards in H. P. Klötzli's small shop in Burgdorf, Switzerland.
In 2006, Kershaw® introduced the Groove. With its all-new blade style, it became one of the more popular choices. This year, they have taken the knife to a new level. They have added a Tanto style blade and coated both the blade and handle with a black Tungsten DLC coating.
Kershaw's latest model in the Onion series, that began with the Chive, is the Shallot.
At the 2007 Blade Show, Kershaw introduced an innovative twist on blade steel. The Tyrade has a 3-5/8" beefy drop point composite blade that consists of a spine of 154CM fused to a cutting edge of CPM-D2 at 58-60 Rc.
Laurent Doussot, handmade knifemaker and winner of the Best Folder award at the Paris Knife Show last year, has developed a new line of semi-production knives under the mark Skalja. Born in France, but now living in Quebec, Canada, Laurent is blending his work as a sculptor with his calling as a knifemaker.
SOG has taken their Twitch XL and added a Tanto style blade for a more tactical look. With a frame of a standard lockback, and SOG's own SAT assisted technology, the Twitch XL is built for serious business. SOG has also added a built-in safety that either locks the blade closed or can double lock the blade while open.
The Byrd Finch is very similar in size to the popular Ladybug, the Finch is designed to yield the maximum in cutting performance in the smallest possible package. The size makes it the perfect keychain knife, but it is a serious working tool.
Böker's® version of the Eurofighter features a high performance Damascus blade forged from a Mauser BK 27 cannon barrel by German Damascus craftsman Markus Balbach. This exclusive pattern is called "Great Roses".
First fossilized Mammoth Ivory and then Mammoth Tooth became very desirable for knife handles. Over the past few years, we have seen a few handmade knifemakers use Mammoth Bone. This material varies widely in its appearance because bone starts out very absorbent and easily picks up color from the minerals in the soil where it has laid for thousands of years. Unlike ivory, which will usually have color on the surface (bark), Mammoth Bone will have absorbed the color through the entire thickness.
The name for the SOG® Vulcan was inspired by the General Electric M61A1 Vulcan, a six-barrel 20mm Gatling-type cannon which is an integral part of the armament of such modern-day fighters as the F-15, F-18, and the F-16. SOG's Vulcan, with its heavy duty glass reinforced Zytel® handles over full steel liners, the ARC-Lock, and blade kick deployment system, is sure to become an integral part of the modern day warrior's gear.
The Tenacious is the first main line Spyderco® to be made in China. The quality is similar to Japanese or American produced Spyderco® knives and the price is much lower.

The Kershaw Ener-G is a new breed of easy open knives, using the "pseunetic®" opening feature. The blade is held in the closed position until deployed by pulling on the extended tang located at the front of the spine that along with a quick flick of the wrist rotates the blade to its open position.
At the 2007 S.H.O.T. Show, we arranged with Mcusta® to receive a series of Limited Edition versions of this beautiful folder created with precision inlay work in natural wood handles.
Tony Bose is, like Bob Loveless, a force of nature. He enjoys a degree of success with his superlative handmade slipjoint and lockback pocketknives that has literally made him a legend in his own time. A shy, quiet, unassuming person, he is a pleasure to talk to if you can get him to open up.
The SOG® Kilowatt is a working theme knife designed for the electrician, homeowner, contractor, or anyone who might need to strip wire in a pinch. Three separate systems address wire from fine multi-strand all the way up to cable.
Böker®, once a middle-sized manufacturer of decent quality knives that fit below Hen & Rooster, Henckels and Puma, is today the largest cutlery manufacturer in Solingen and makes pocketknives for the Henckels and Hen & Rooster marks.
Byrd knives are an entry-level series of knives designed, produced and imported by Spyderco. Just right for the budget conscious, these knives are hardworking and tough, with many design options. Backed by the Spyderco reputation, and made with quality materials, you can't go wrong with these knives.
Based on the background green found in the U.S. Army's Digital Cammo, the military foliage green Endura4 is designed for both military and civilians. The color is a shade-shifting mix of gray and green that effectively disappears into its surroundings.
This minimalist knife (3/16" thick without the clip) won't take up much room in your wallet or pocket or attached to a ballistic vest. It is also light weight enough to be worn as a neck knife.
The Ultralight™ series, which Al Mar Knives began producing several years before Al died, made use of a concept that W. C. Davis and I pioneered in the early 1970s; a linerless phenolic resin (Micarta®) handle. This is a great way to make a strong, lightweight folding knife, the heavy weight metal of liners and bolsters is removed.
Seiichi Nakamura spent his life as an engineer and in retirement designs and produces small Japanese style folders and gentleman's folders. As far as I can determine, this is the first instance in which one of his designs has been manufactured by an American company. Just last year we offered a Nakamura folder from Kershaw, but that knife was produced by a small factory in Japan.
The SOG Trident folders have features that are common to several of SOG's most popular knives. Upon closer inspection, you will find that they have features not normally seen in a folder. The Trident uses S.A.T.™ technology to open the knife, just open the knife about 1/3 of the way and the knife does the rest.
"Discontinued - Price Reduced"
Ed Van Hoy has designed a number of hot sellers for Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT). This time it is a frame-lock folder that utilizes Columbia River's patented OutBurst™ assisted opening mechanism. The action is super slick, thanks to bronze and Teflon® bearings at the adjustable blade pivot.
The service men and women of the coalition forces in the Middle East and Afghanistan require cutting tools that can stand up to the harsh demands of the desert. The Carson Desert Tactical Folders have been developed specifically to blend into the desert environment.

When a series like Kit Carson's aluminum handled line has been so successful, it is bound to spark calls for variations. In this case, the request was for a spear point blade similar to Kit's M18 design. As soon as they saw the first sketches, Columbia River knew they should offer it in two sizes similar to the "Little Bulldog" and "Big Dog".
All the zip, oh wow, and features of Kit Carson's Big Dog M16s in a Compact Every Day Carry. After the incredible success of Kit Carson's original aluminum M16 Series, CRKT began to get comments like this, "I love my M16 Big Dog, but I wish I had a bit more compact size that I could carry every day, both on the job and at leisure." These requests reached the point that Columbia River could not ignore them, so here they are: the M16 Compact EDC (Every Day Carry).
This Ed Halligan design is an answer to requests for changes in the very popular CRKT® K.I.S.S.® knives. The result, the Slip K.I.S.S.® is the lightest full-size K.I.S.S. knife yet.
In 2007, CRKT® followed one of the most successful designs, the K.I.S.S.® in modern knife history with the H.U.G.™. For 2008, they have made a tactical version with black non-reflective titanium nitride coating.

The Pazoda™ is a stylish frame-lock folder with a 2-5/8" premium 8Cr14MoV blade at 58-59 Rc., gray titanium nitride coated.
As you know, Barry Gallagher is one of the most acclaimed members of the Knifemakers' Guild, well known for his award-winning high-end custom art knives. So CRKT® had a special challenge in producing Barry's Badger design at a quality level that would satisfy him, while keeping the price low enough to satisfy you.
Custom knives are often set apart by the exotic materials used. It is no surprise that custom knifemaker Ron Lake was persistent in his desire that Columbia River Knife & Tool® use those same materials in the Sentinel.
Study aircraft history, and you find the name Thunderbolt connected both to the P-47 fighter and A-10 fighter-bomber. They are both invariably described as "large, rugged, dependable." Those words also fit Ron Lake's new locking liner design for the Columbia River Knife & Tool® (CRKT®) Thunderbolt™.
The Lake Laredo is an affordable knife with a Western flair. CRKT has worked hard to incorporate all of the design elements present in the prototype presented by Ron Lake and to keep the price affordable for any knife lover.
Columbia River's 14k Summit series utilizes their powerful InterFrame locking liner construction. Combined with the "skeletonized" scales of nickel chrome plated zinc alloy, this open construction makes it easy to clean your knife and reduces weight.
By now the Columbia River Knife and Tool Company needs no introduction, they get the very best work out of Taiwan and are able to sell their knives at VERY realistic prices.
When you think you have seen every way possible to open a folding knife, Columbia River seems to find a new one. The Kommer Fulcrum™ is such a folder.
The sleek, natural look of Barry Gallagher's Glide Lock from Columbia River Knife & Tool® depends on two very modern technologies.
CRKT® has applied Koji's remarkable design sense to a small personal folder incorporating their patented Outburst™ assisted opening mechanism. The result is a small knife that gives good grip, fits the hand nicely, and is truly functional for a variety of work tasks. They call their first Koji series Ichi™, Japanese for "one".
The Buck® heavy duty Alpha folder is like bringing the 110 into the 21st Century. We offer this folder in two styles, a drop point blade and a gut-hook.
Each year Buck® creates a small group of customized knives using standard Buck® models. For 2008, among other models, they have created what they refer to as the Buck Guitar series. Canal Street Cutlery is rising like a Phoenix from the ashes of Schrade Cutlery. With skills and knowledge from hundreds of combined years in the cutlery industry, this handful of dedicated and talented men are abandoning the names and dross of the 100 year old Schrade firm like a Cicada leaves its skin.
Canal Street Cutlery is located at 30 Canal Street in Ellenville, NY, an early home of Schrade Cutlery. Ellenville has a long and rich tradition in knife production dating back to the 19th century. Now in their third year of operation, Canal Street Cutlery has a wealth of knife making experience and technical knowledge.

There are six blades designed for the carver, a detail knife, a straight gouge, hook knife, V-scorp, gouge scorp, and a chisel. All of the blades are razor sharp and all blades lock in the open position.
It is hard to believe that the same person who designed the Stallion and the Gator for Gerber has designed what they are calling the Gerber AR 3.00. However, I am assured by the people at Gerber, that this is the case.
Ever notice how alligators are completely indifferent to the weather? Well these prized knives are kinda the same, because they perform to their fullest whether the conditions are wet or dry.
Gerber has redesigned the EZ-Out. The function is still the same, only the design is different. They have added two additional holes in the blade for a sleeker look and a slightly lighter feel in your pocket.
,,The Covert from Gerber was a 3/4 size version of the big run-away best seller Applegate-Fairbairn® Combat Folder. The Covert was itself a big seller. Its 4-5/8" handle made it still a pretty big knife for the average pocket. Gerber is now offering the Mini-Covert, which is a really great, neatly sized knife with a 3-5/8" handle of glass filled nylon, and 2-7/8" blade of AUS-6 at 56-58 Rc. Like the Combat Folder and the Covert before it, it uses the Liner-Lock® invented by Michael Walker. Weighs 2.1 oz. Made in Taiwan.
The Klötzli Sarra is based on a tried and true Michael Walker design. As you will find with all Klötzli made knives, the Sarra works so smoothly you will hardly feel it opening.
The A.G. Russell One Hand Knife™ has been our best selling knife since the first ones were shipped in 1988. The handle, which is machined from a piece of solid stainless spring steel, works in conjunction with the blade to create an unusual locking system. This locking system, and the location of a thumb stud on both sides of the blade, allows the knife to be closed or opened one handed using either the right or left hand. That's why we call it the One Hand Knife™.
Since 2002, Ka-Bar® Knives has offered a line of custom-designed Dozier lockback folders. These knives are designed for hard work, and are perfect for everyday use.
Designed with the serious hunter in mind, the Northside Hunter has an ergonomic handle design and an angled blade design to help make field dressing an easier task.
The unique Ken Onion action on the Kershaw® knives gets smoother with every model. These knives open with what Kershaw® calls the "Speed Safe®" action. You open it 20% and the knife opens itself the remaining 80%.
CPM-440V is one of the state of the art tool steels now used for high end knives. It is not only more expensive but noticeably harder to work. There are a few other powder metal steels that will give similar performance but none that are measurably better at edge holding.
At the 2001 S.H.O.T. Show, Kershaw introduced two Ken Onion designs. Playing upon Ken's name they call these their fresh onions, the Chive and the Scallion. Like most other Onion designs, both knives feature Ken's Speed-Safe torsion bar mechanism for smooth assisted opening. Made in U.S.A.
The Leek is directly related to the Chive and the Scallion designed for Kershaw by handmade knifemaker Ken Onion. Like the earlier two knives, the Leek features Ken's Speed-Safe assisted opening. The revolutionary Speed-Safe Torsion Bar device provides smooth and effortless blade deployment with just one finger.

The Complicity is one of two models being produced by Canadian knifemaker Laurent Doussot under the Skalja™ trademark.
The Arcitech CF is the second in SOG's Platinum line of high-end collectible knives.
Introduced in 2007, the Bi-Polar was SOG's first dual assisted knife with twin blades. Using SOG's assisted technology, each blade is propelled into the open position once you start the blade moving. For 2008, SOG has removed the V-Cutter, and added a 2-3/8" fully serrated blade. The perfect rescue knife, whether used by law enforcement, emergency medical personnel or the outdoorsman who needs a knife to quickly handle the many daily predicaments he finds himself in. Dual blades, double lockbars and twin safeties all work to lock the blades closed or double lock the blades open. Includes a hardened steel glass beaker on the end of the handle.
This tiny Titanium Lockback Folder is a continuation of a series of folders based on the A. G. Russell™ Ultimate Pen Knife, which we introduced mid-year 2003. That small pen knife is a slip joint and measures only 2" closed. While it is an extremely handy and useful little knife, I saw the need for a series of knives that would be just as thin, or nearly as thin (to rest comfortably in your pocket) but a little larger and with a locking blade.
This design is over 50 years old. I first saw it that long ago as an advertising knife from the Ford Motor Company. With modern technology and materials, these are great little knives.
If you are in the market for a larger folder, please consider our Tactical Folder. This 4-1/2" Titanium frame lock has a 3-1/2" blade of ATS-34 at 59-61 Rc. or beautiful Twist pattern Damasteel® with a center core of ATS-34.

In Japanese, the word Kaeru (frog) also means, "to return". The frog is seen as a symbol of good fortune. To ensure a safe return from their journey, travelers often carry something with the image of a frog.

Outdoor Edge® has a substantial reputation for creating highly functional, hard working knives and butchering tools for the serious hunter.

David Yellowhorse has enhanced Lone Wolf's Paul® Presto by adding his unique Native American designs to create the "Long Journey Home" folder. Channel inlays of sterling silver, jet-stone, bloody jasper and fire opal are beautifully fit and polished to a high luster. A silver inlay depicts a Native American Warrior returning home from battle. The handle frame is stippled by hand to a deep textured non-glare finish.
The Protector is a tough, sleek folder with an aggressive reinforced-tip blade that will handle any cutting task you are likely to encounter.
The Presto is a Paul® design that was introduced by Lone Wolf in January 2006. While the look changed, it retained all the key Paul® Knife features owners and collectors love.
At the 2007 Blade Show, Kershaw introduced an innovative twist on knife blade construction. They have developed a process where they fit two different steels together to create a blade. The primary purpose for creating a blade in this manner is to allow the manufacturer to use a lesser quality steel for the spine and one of the new expensive high performance steels for the cutting edge.
Since Michael Walker developed the modern "Liner-Lock®", the knife industry has flocked to the design. There are new companies who make their entire business from knives with this style lock and there are people like Spyderco and Benchmade who find it more and more interesting to produce new knives using it.
When you first take your knife out of the box, it may take you a minute to find and deploy the Gut Hook.

As president of Al Mar® Knives, Gary Fadden, a fellow Green Beret and friend of Al Mar's, is focusing on Al's best selling designs. The Ultralight series, which Al Mar® Knives began producing several years before Al died, made use of a concept that W. C. Davis and I pioneered in the early 1970s; a linerless phenolic resin (Micarta®) handle. This is a great way to make a strong, lightweight folding knife, the heavy weight metal of liners and bolsters is removed.

The handles are created by Navajo silversmith David Yellowhorse using turquoise, bloody jasper, black jet and ironwood inlaid with nickel silver on both sides of the knife.
These Wrangler® Big Timber lockbacks are traditional style folders favored by those who like a solid heavy folder. The small one fits comfortably in your pocket, while the large one works best in a pouch on your belt. Available in two sizes both with handle scales of African Ebony with maple burl and nickel silver spacers, nickel silver bolsters and caps and brass liners.
This is not a camp knife or a hunting knife, but works wonderfully in the kitchen of a New York City apartment or a Wyoming hunting camp, when preparing a meal is the task at hand.
The Explorer was introduced in 2004 and is a functional multi-use knife. The blade is a modified drop point of 440A stainless at 56-58 Rc. with a satin finish. Measuring in a 3", it has enough blade for almost any job you put it to.

This exquisite little William Henry Pikatti is a first for A. G. Russell Knives. The model was introduced in 2006, but this is the first exclusive created for us.
The byrd line's smallest lightweight folder is the Starling. It is engineered to yield maximum cutting performance with a blade under two-inches.

The Trance Drop Point, from Chad Los Baños is designed for hunting chores. It's slightly larger size from the popular Subcom series combines a powerful AUS-8 stainless steel blade and an ergonomically shaped handle.
This is an interesting twist to Böker's® ceramic knives. I find this to be a serious and useful knife and recommend it for anyone with interest in the quality of ceramic blades.

Spyderco® calls the SPIN a runt. Like many so called runts this one is a pretty tough cookie! Designed by Eric Glesser, who is an important part of the Spyderco engineering and design team, to be the smallest possible folder with the largest possible cutting edge. It is obvious that Eric has learned much from his father (Sal Glesser, founder of Spyderco), but it is equally obvious that he brings his own interpretation to knife design.
Pikatti is an Eskimo word meaning companion, an appropriate name for a small knife that was designed as a faithful tool to help with everyday tasks. Conceived as functional jewelry, the Pikatti is compact and lightweight for daily carry in the pocket or purse, but robust enough for a lifetime of daily use.
